One day, daffodil. One day!
engagement land: arrived.

and, after all the poetry residency hoopla/writing a pantoum/off to writing more poetry in forms: i am engaged.

WHOA.

I’m excited and, also overwhelmed. I’ve been reading a lot of wedding related websites, including offbeatbride.com. and of course, theknot. Apparently, this is considered a very stressful situation. I mean, the “being engaged” part: planning a wedding. Yes, the bloggings are correct. IT IS A LOT MORE WORK THAN I THOUGHT.

LIFE PLANNING?

I DON’T REALLY KNOW IF I HAVE EVER DONE LIFE PLANNING.

It is time to start life-plans.

When do I want to have the wedding? Probably 2011.

Where? I don’t know! The Berkshires? Arizona? Vermont? Somewhere urban and artsy?

What kind of dress do I want? One that is short and shows off my short legs instead of hiding my height/entire body completely. Thumbs up to short dresses.

But other than that: where do I want to live? Jake will be finished with UMass, and my low-residency program is available to me from anywhere in the world. Where-where-where?

First things first: I’m a finalist for a Promise Fellowship with 826 Baaawston. It would be so so so so wonderful if I get it.

Wishes and lists and promises. Who knew.
